Values, Ethics and Governance
Dr. Roy Rimington
25th March 2020 7pm to 8pm
Singapore Quality Institute
Evening Talk Session
Light Refreshments will be provided from 6:30pm
This talk will examine the importance of the three pillars consisting of Values, Ethics and Governance, and their influence on Quality Excellence. Much attention is given to establishing Quality Management Systems and providing staff with associated improvement and technical skills. However, such Quality Management Systems will be difficult to sustain without developing behavioural aspects such as Values, Ethics and Governance. Ultimately, if there is seen to be a lack of pride of workmanship, care and accountability an organisation’s reputation could be seriously affected. There are no short cuts in achieving Quality Excellence, it takes hard work, commitment from the top and engagement at all levels along the supply chain. This talk will also discuss value creation and protection; reputational risk; principles and values; organisational culture; behaviours and human capital risk; codes of ethics; failures and successes in governance. These aspects will be supported by models and frameworks such as the ‘GIVE’ model.
