Objectives: Acquiring the knowledge and skills gained to undertake and lead a successful
IATF16949 Automotive Quality Management System audit.
• Identify linkages to quality management principles in the context of ISO9001 and
• Identify and apply the process approach
• Demonstrate an understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 requirements
• Demonstrate an understanding of risk-based thinking
• Demonstrate an understanding of how risk-based thinking supports and improves the
understanding and application of the process approach
• Identify the requirements applicable to an IATF 16949:2016 first and second-party
internal auditor
• Identify the linkages to the Customer Specific Requirements
• Identify the linkages to the Automotive Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP)
• Demonstrate an understanding of Rules 5th Edition
• Apply auditing skills according to ISO 19011
• Apply the concept of risk-based thinking in the audit process
Duration: 5 days (35 hours)
Who Should Attend:
Auditor, Lead Auditor or Anyone with the need to perform first- or second-party auditing of
an organisation’s IATF 16949:2016 Automotive QMS. Participants will need to complete the
introduction to IATF 16949:2016 QMS & core tool training and/or application knowledge.
An understanding of both ISO 9001 and Introduction to IATF 16949 requirements with
training and/or work experience in applying core tools and internal auditor experience in
the Automotive systems/components manufacturing is strongly recommended.
